Genesis Energy Group, a clean-energy infrastructure development and asset-
management company, says its solar power project in Katsina State has helped save over N3bn annually in energy costs.
The project also helped Katsina State General Hospital achieve an uninterrupted electricity supply while reducing reliance on costly fuel and unstable grid electricity.
This was a result of the $500m Memorandum of Understanding it earlier signed with the Katsina State Government to deploy solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems across the state.
The company disclosed this during the 2025 Nigeria Energy Leadership Summit, held recently at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, where it served as headline sponsor.
The summit brought together policymakers, financiers, and industry leaders to explore pathways for sustainable electricity supply under the theme Powering Nigeria through Investment, Innovation and Partnership’.
